Coaching Membership
At The Strength Fortress we have one all inclusive membership option. Our coaching membership includes gym access, personalised programming and gym floor coaching including technical coaching, warm ups and injury rehabilitation.
Our service delivery is pretty unique and one that may be hard to get a full grasp of without having visited.
The Strength Fortress was designed for you to be able to complete all of your training under the supervision of a coach. Our members train together like teammates of a football team, under the direction of our coaching staff.
We don’t have class times, we don’t have a booking system, we don’t offer group personal training. Instead, our open coaching hours mean that members can turn up at the time that best suits them, knowing that their coaches will be awaiting them on the gym floor, ready to guide them through their training.
And in the same way that each football player receives coaching tailored to their individual position, role, and needs; our members receive coaching tailored to their goals, strengths, weaknesses, health and injury status, and experience level, but train together as a team.
We pride ourselves on providing ongoing education and fostering autonomy in our member base. Our members learn how to lift competently, confidently, safely, and effectively, so that strength training can be part of their skill set for life. We achieve this by having our members complete their prescribed training at their own pace, while we are always there and accessible. For more beginner lifters we provide ample support and as they develop more autonomy, we give them space to explore and learn, while remaining accessible to them as they need us.

In this way a TSF membership is designed with the complete beginner to the advanced-level lifter in mind. Whether you require a lot of hand holding to get started or want more autonomy but a coach to ensure you are training smart, our coaching membership meets you where you are.
Don’t just take it from us
I’m a 38 year old philosophy academic who’s now mildly addicted to powerlifting. I was a complete novice when I joined up in 2021. To be honest, I had always found gyms rather intimidating and when I signed up, it did take me a little while to figure out how to navigate the space. However, the team were incredible at making me feel welcome and I was eased into a program that built both my confidence and muscles. I chose to sign up because of my history of chronic fatigue syndrome and chronic pain. I wanted something in my life that would literally rebuild my body and also prove to myself that challenging my body is safe and healthy. Powerlifting has done exactly that: I’ve got so much energy now, I love making gains, and I’m pretty damn proud of myself for being able to deadlift over my body weight. The Fortress is such a friendly and inclusive space; if you’re looking for something grounding and challenging, that will build good habits, then this is where to start.
